REGWA
ACTIVITIES
REGWA
is participating actively in the groundwater development schemes
in Egyptian territories by drilling water wells, pumping stations,
pipe lines, water
towers, stations of purification from iron
and manganese, land reclamation,
consulting services, and other activities related to desert
development schemes.
REGWA have carried - out major turnkey and supply contracts
in the drilling water wells, land reclamation, and consulting
services both in the Arab Republic of Egypt and internationally:
Sudan, Libya, Cote D’ivoire, Niger, and Kenya.
WATER
WELL DRILLING ACTIVITIES
REGWA
is the leading international contactor in water well drilling
in Egypt and internationally.
Fifty-seven rigs are designed to drill wells up to 2000m,
which are noted for their durability and reliability. The
rigs are designed to handle mud and some air drilling with
a wide variety of applications including shallow (100-300m),
medium (400-600m) and deep wells (2000m), of the exploration,
production, and piezometric types.
REGWA offers
extensive flexibility in drilling operations which is backed
by a central workshop in Cairo for maintenance and quick servicing.
A large fleet of heavy duty trucks, cementing units, well
regeneration equipments, numerous workshops assisted by storehouses
for the total client satisfaction and efficient projects programme
implementation.

WESTERN
DESERT:
The Nubia Sandstone
forms a huge groundwater aquifer, which covers the Western Desert
of Egypt.
REGWA
have participated effectively since 1960 in systematic drilling
operations for the deep aquifer horizons with depth ranging
400- over 1500m.
These wells were drilled
to provide water supplies for the large scale irrigated agriculture
and new settlements in the new valley oases region Kharga, Dakhla,
Farafra, Bahariya and Siwa.
Several contracts were
signed and fulfilled, including replacement of the old wells
which have exceeded their economic life.
The main projects which
have executed or under implementation are as follows:
Siwa
Oasis -Bahariya Oasis -Farafra Oasis, Abou Munqar and Sahl Qarawin-Kharga
Oasis -Dakhla Oasis, and West El Mawhub.

| SINAI
:
The interest in water resources in Sinai dates back to the known story
of the Prophet Moses.
The
Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation and the Sinai Development
Authorities are interested in getting the maximum use of the available
groundwater resources.
REGWA completed extensive drilling operations in the entire area
of Sinai in all the aquifer systems: Wadi EL Arish - Sheikh Zuwayed
/ Rafah Zone - Sahl EL Qaa Agriculture Project (South East Sinai)
- Tourism Centers of Dahab, Newiba and Sharm EL Sheikh:
Drilling of production wells at these centers for municipal supply
and coastal wells for the desalination unit at Sharm EL Sheikh.
Central Sinai :
Deep
aquifer system, which comparable with the Nubia System in the Western
Desert, is reported to be an important deep groundwater resources
in Sinai with a great potential for development.
REGWA has succeeded
to drill complete and testing of over than 90 deep water wells with
a depth ranging 900m to maximum 1 800m, mainly for the Ministry
of Resources and Irrigation and the Japanese Aid (JICA). |
The Nile
Delta and Valley :
Activities
in the Nile Delta and the Nile Valley have strongly been manifested
by extensive drilling water wells for irrigation and drinking purposes.
Hundreds of wells were drilled in most of the governorates to achieve
a conjunctive use of surface and groundwater, and to achieve maximizing
of groundwater extractions. |
Eastern
Delta Fringes:
REGWA
has covered the major part of the East Delta fringes by drilling
operations. Medium scale agriculture projects used groundwater as
additional water supply. |
Western
Delta Fringes:
Large
scale and rapid projects depends on groundwater extraction.
REGWA
have participated in the groundwater development by drilling wells
in addition to the reclamation of 60000 feddans in the Wadi EL Faregh
Project.
Along Cairo
- Alexandria desert road and Natrun depression extensive groundwater
development, over 350 water wells with depths up to 300m were drilled.
Most of these wells were supplied by the suitable pump and generator
with drip or sprinkler irrigation system.
EL Sadat
town water supply was designed by REGWA.
This includes
drilling water wells, pipe line networks, pump stations, and storage
reservoirs with the necessary pumping equipment.
|
| Upper
Egypt :
REGWA
have executed extensive number of water wells for the various users
in the following governrates:
|
Eastern
Desert :
REGWA
drilled over 30 supply wells with depth 90-130 m for the desalination
units along the Red Sea coastal towns.
At Halayeb-Shalatin
area, REGWA has completed
a turnkey project including surface-groundwater investigations,
soil survey, drilling 8 production water wells with depths 100-300
m, and 15 piezometers.
The production
wells at Abou Saafa area (Nubia Sandstone) have been equipped with
suitable pump- generating system and pump house specifically designed
to protect this system frOm flash floading hazards.

REGWA
PARTICIPATED IN THE NATIONAL MEGA RECLAMATION PROJECTS as following:
|
| PETROLEUM
SERVICES
RREGWA
has carried out, and still carrying many services for International
Petroleum Companies at their drill sites in the Western and Eastern
Deserts of Egypt.
These activities embrace both workover of oil wells, drilling water
wells to bring water wherever these companies need it.
GUPCO - WEPCO - BRITISH PETROLEUM Co. - SANTAFE- MINERALS - SUMED
- MOBIL OIL - ARCO - NORCONSULT |
